No more understatement
Electric vehicles have become a staple across all car segments. In the premium mid-range class, the BMW i5 offers a solid alternative to the conventional 5 Series with petrol, diesel, or hybrid engines. At just 4.23 metres long, Volvo offers a small SUV in the form of the EX30.
Both models surprise with their high-performance top versions, leaving little to be desired in terms of driving dynamics. Despite their contrasting designs – the i5 as a sleek saloon and the EX30 as an angular SUV – they share a common trait: a reserved exterior. Enter the AEZ Toronto – the perfect solution to counteract too much understatement.
AEZ Toronto adds sophisticated flair
The design of the AEZ Toronto is a real eye-catcher. Inspired by the vibrant Canadian metropolis on Lake Ontario – a city known for its urban charm, world-class architecture, and dynamic art scene – the wheel blends familiar elements with fresh innovation: a bold, angular design with refined accents.
The ten spokes combine Y and V shapes, creating a unique aesthetic. Layered dimensions deliver an impressive 3D effect. The colour variant “black” offers a sleek, all-black finish, while “dark” pairs bold contrasts with glossy, front-polished contours.
BMW i5 M60 – a true M model, only electric
The M60, the electric flagship of the BMW i5 range, delivers striking contrast. While its exterior remains relatively understated, what lies beneath is anything but. With 601 hp and a robust 795 Nm of torque, the all-wheel-drive model catapults from 0 to 100 km/h in just 3.8 seconds.
The adaptive M Professional suspension instantly responds to any driving situation – from ultra-comfortable to ultra-sporty. With a top speed of 230 km/h, the i5 M60 is a force to reckon with on motorways. The AEZ Toronto dark perfectly complements its athletic spirit, enhancing the car’s sporty persona.
A small Swede with big ambitions: Volvo EX30
The Volvo EX30 also leans into understatement – initially presenting itself as a practical companion. With five seats, a rear bench that folds flat in three parts, and a front boot, it’s functional to the core. Yet even the base version packs a punch, delivering 272 hp and sprinting from 0 to 100 km/h in 5.7 seconds. Like all Volvos, it’s electronically capped at 180 km/h.
The “Twin Motor Performance” top-range model, however, brings more than just dual electric power – its all-wheel drive channels 428 hp and 543 Nm confidently onto the road. With a blistering 3.6-second dash from 0 to 100 km/h, it even outpaces the BMW i5 M60 in a standard sprint. The AEZ Toronto black adds an extra visual cue that this Scandinavian means business – all without a hint of arrogance. A true cool-headed Scandinavian contender.
