Duet of the premium allrounders
With its elongated yet almost coupé-like form, the VW ID.7 shows where its strengths lie even from the outside: As a spacious travel sedan, the electric VW, with its almost five meters of exterior length, is a force to be reckoned with.
However, we thought its elegant, pleasing form could use a bit more pizzazz, so for our photo and video shoot, we mounted the character-strong AEZ Porto dark. And our video shows that we were spot on with this choice.
A bit of edge all around
The long wheelbase of almost three meters reveals the VW ID.7, with its sweeping lines, as a comfortable highway glider. With its angular, expressive cross-spoke design, the Porto dark is not only one of AEZ's most popular rims.
The Porto, with its – at first glance – classic design, can also be used quite universally. In the case of the ID.7, the specialist for premium vehicles of the mid- and upper mid-range is a strongly contrasting design element that slightly extends the VW's appearance into the sporty realm. This suits the ID.7 very well.
Not just for long journeys
In addition to its pronounced long-distance capability, the ID.7 is also a friend of tight cornering, especially if you opt for the adaptive dampers. But even the precise, responsive, agile steering promotes a confident driving experience that also includes breezy rides on narrow serpentine roads.
This sporty appearance is further enhanced by the Porto dark in the mounted dimension: 8.50x21 inches at the front with ET 40 and 245/35 tyres in front already look sporty, with the wide 275/30 tyres on the Porto in 9.00x21 inches (ET 42.0) making the ID.7 look almost like a sports car.
Plug&Drive for various dimensions
However, it’s not just the Porto (dark and black), available in sizes from 18 to 21 inches, which can be mounted in the sporty size with VTA certification. The AEZ Havanna (dark and grey) can be easily mounted with ECE certification in the dimension 8.5x20 inches, ET 40.0 (front) and 9.5x20, ET 47.0 (rear) without additional approval. Plug&Drive, it couldn't be simpler.
In any case, the VW ID.7 with its 286 HP is impressively equipped. Those who prefer a somewhat more conventional, straightforward design might find what they are looking for with the AEZ Atlanta (black and titan). They too can be mounted with VTA approval in the specified dimensions.
