Charged up space master
VW forges ahead undeterred: With the ID.4, the Wolfsburg manufacturer shows that they are serious about e-mobility.
The e-SUV combines sustainability with a well-thought-out space concept. The fully electric Volkswagen draws even more attention when equipped with rims from the AEZ range where strong design meets high load-bearing and ECE approvals. Our example shows an especially successful combination: VW’s ID.4 and the new cross-spoked AEZ Porto in the colour variation black.
Shrouded in mystery
The AEZ Porto black rim will reveal all of its secrets when you take a closer look. In addition to the premium black matte finish, the ten spokes in the Y-format impress onlookers on account of their inclined surfaces.
Apart from a design that oozes a love for detail, AEZ has equipped the Porto black with concrete inner values. A load-bearing capacity of 810kg makes this wheel suitable for many, slightly heavier, electric, hybrid and plug-in-hybrid models while being available in a wide range of dimensions from 8.0x18 to 9.0x21 inches for the one-piece 5-hole fitment rim.
The right kind of combination
Powerful appearance, solid footing. In our example, the ID.4 is wearing 20-inch rims all around with a staggered fitment of 235/50 in the front and 255/45 in the rear which can be mounted free of registration.
The ID.4’s striking LED light strip and its aerodynamic design meet a long wheelbase with compact overall dimensions. The e-platform allows for a novel architecture providing plenty of room and a lounge-like sense of space. Even tall co-passengers will find generous head and leg space also in the second row. And you don’t have to be stingy with luggage either. The ID.4’s boot can easily accommodate between 543 litres and (with the rear bench seat folded) 1575 litres.
Better safe than sorry
The Wolfsburg car manufacturer shows no weakness when it comes to the Euro NCAP test. A complete safety package with airbags all around, stable passenger cabin, and many assist systems as well as a multi-collision brake have earned the e-SUV top marks for the protection of bigger and smaller passengers, having obtained an overall score of five out of five stars.
The Reacher
Nobody needs to be anxious about range in the VW ID.4. With a 77kW/h battery and performance levels from 128kW (174hp), in the Pro exceeding 150kW (204hp), in the Pro Performance up to the GTX with 220kW (299hp) and an all-wheel drive, the ID.4 (Pro) can cover a range of up to 513km, and that at a decent speed: The 150kW model sprints to 100km/h in 8.5 seconds while the GTX trim does it in stunning 6.2 seconds.
Up-to-date infotainment, classic rim design
Be it head-up display featuring augmented reality technology, language assistance or support from Apple CarPlay or Android Auto, the ID.4 keeps pace with the times also as regards multimedia and connectivity – or might even be ahead of its time. In combination with the classic cross-spoked Porto black and its detailed design, the ID.4 wins not only in terms of expressive power. The duo seems to be meant for each other.
